ENERGY AND FUEL

AFFORDABLE POWER FOR EVERY HOME AND BUSINESS.

A competitive modern economy relies entirely on accessible, stable, and affordable power. Sifuna’s presidential vision is focused on breaking the monopoly on our energy sector, lowering the cost of fuel and electricity, and transitioning Kenya into a green energy hub that lowers household expenses and drives industrial growth.

Our Values

We believe in energy security, consumer fairness, and strategic resource management. Light, heat, and transport should never be luxury commodities that strain family budgets, and public energy infrastructure must be managed to serve national development, not private cartels.

The Problem

Kenyan households and businesses are trapped under the weight of some of the highest electricity and fuel prices in the region. Punitive fuel taxes, opaque levies, and poorly negotiated Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Independent Power Producers have artificially driven up utility bills, driving local manufacturing companies out of business and inflating the cost of public transport.

Our Solution

As President, Sifuna will dismantle cartels in the energy sector and implement immediate cost-relief measures:

  • Restructuring Power Purchase Agreements: Audit and renegotiate all expensive and unfair contracts with Independent Power Producers to drastically lower the wholesale cost of electricity.

  • Fuel Tax Rationalization: Eliminate or reduce redundant taxes, levies, and margins on petrol, diesel, and kerosene to provide immediate relief at the pump.

  • Breaking the Distribution Monopoly: Reform the energy sector to allow for fair competition in power distribution, driving down consumer costs through efficiency and innovation.

  • Accelerating Green Energy Access: Expand national investment in cheap, renewable energy sources like geothermal, solar, and wind, while subsidizing cooking gas (LPG) to protect our environment.

Key Takeaways
  • Lower Electricity Bills: Reforming power contracts to directly reduce your monthly household and business utility expenses.

  • Cheaper Fuel and Transport: Cutting aggressive fuel taxes to lower the cost of commuting and moving goods across the country.

  • Sustainable Power: Transitioning to clean, locally produced green energy that secures our economic independence.
